I've ridden Marriotts way many times, and it's a great route. However foolishly I didn't appreciate how muddy many parts of it get when it's been wet.

3 great parking spots and go to the barn for a lovely breakfast sausage roll at 9am. They’re gorgeous. Look out for the Egyptian and Canadian geese as well as a huge amount of chaffinches.

Yes, several long-distance paths cross the district. The most famous is Boudicca Way, a 36-mile trail from Norwich to Diss. You can also explore sections of the Wherryman's Way along the River Yare or Marriott's Way, which follows a disused railway line. The Hellesdon Station & Costessey loop gives a great taste of Marriott's Way.

What is the hiking like in Thetford Forest?

Thetford Forest, on the edge of the district, offers a different landscape of dense pine woodlands and heath. It has numerous waymarked trails for all abilities, from short family strolls to longer, more challenging hikes. It's a fantastic destination for a full day of exploration.
