N.V. Brouwerij Moortgat, founded by Leonard Moortgat in 1871 (see the facade stone with the date and the mention of J.L. Moortgat/M.H. De Block), initially as a mixed family business, a farm with an accompanying vinegar and beer brewery. Due to the growing success of the brewery, where the first "Duvel" was reportedly brewed in 1927, the facility was expanded and renovated several times. Today, the brewery buildings are relatively recent, the oldest of which date back to the second quarter of the 20th century. (Inventory of Immovable Heritage)

50 years ago this building was a ruined pigsty. The current building is a beautiful renovation.

Diepensteyn Castle was rebuilt on the foundations of the former Steenhuffelse count's castle and was once part of the military network of the Duke of Brabant. It is therefore very strongly connected to Brabant's identity and tradition. After the French Revolution, Diepensteyn was no longer inhabited and fell into serious disrepair. Since 1989, it has been owned by the Palm brewery and reconstruction quickly began as a contribution to the historical heritage of its municipality Steenhuffel. Diepensteyn Castle is located in a beautiful domain amidst extensive ponds. The impressive inner courtyard houses the coach house and the stud farm where the Brabant draft horse, the signboard of the Palm brewery, found shelter. (Along Castles and Castles)
