The Dombron bridge spans the Fyrisån in the historic center of Uppsala and is located immediately next to the Cathedral district. From the bridge, a particularly beautiful view opens up along the river towards the adjacent historic buildings, the riverside promenades, and the vibrant city center. It owes its name to its location on the path to the nearby Uppsala Cathedral, whose mighty towers shape the surroundings. As one of the centrally located bridges over the Fyrisån, Dombron is an atmospheric point on a walk through the old town and connects the university and cathedral district with the eastern city center.

The view of the Fyrisån is one of the most beautiful impressions during a walk through the center of Uppsala. The river, flowing calmly through the city, is accompanied by riverside paths, historic buildings, green spaces, and numerous small bridges, and decisively shapes the cityscape. The perspectives along the water are particularly charming, with the facades of the city center and, in places, the towers of the cathedral showing in the background. Gustavianum is Uppsala University's traditional university museum and is located in one of the university's oldest preserved buildings, directly opposite the Cathedral. Built in the 17th century, the house houses collections on the history of the university and sciences, including archaeological and historical exhibits. Particularly exceptional is the 17th-century Anatomical Theatre, located under the building's distinctive dome, which was once used for public anatomical lectures and dissections. The museum thus offers an exciting insight into several centuries of science and university history and is one of Uppsala's most important cultural attractions.

Gamla Uppsala is one of Sweden's most important historical sites and was a major political, religious, and social center during the Iron and Vendel periods. The site is particularly famous for its monumental royal mounds, built in the 6th century for members of the elite of the time, as well as for the medieval church, which was at times the seat of the Swedish archbishop. Archaeological finds and written records also connect Gamla Uppsala with pre-Christian cult traditions and the legendary rulers of the Yngling dynasty, making the extensive site a special insight into Sweden's early history.

The burial mounds of Gamla Uppsala are among Sweden's most significant archaeological sites and predominantly date from the Vendel period in the 6th century. Particularly striking are the three large so-called Royal Mounds, in which members of the social elite of the time were buried; their exact identity, however, is not secured. Together with other graves, settlement traces, and cult sites, the mounds bear witness to the fact that Gamla Uppsala was already an important political and religious center of Scandinavia long before Christianization.
