Climb on rock and dirt with natural ruts and steps. In winter and after rain, the surface becomes very slippery, with reduced grip and sections requiring careful management. A steady pace is better than brute force.

A long, high-altitude dirt road among wind turbines. Compact but exposed, the surface is steep, with constant gradients and no shelter. A challenging stretch, with open views and a feeling of being very small beneath very large structures.

A mountain bike loop through technical dirt roads and smooth ups and downs in the Hyblaean hinterland. Stop at the isolated, thousand-year-old rural church of San Paolo di Pedagaggi, nestled in the silence between Ferla and Monte Lauro. A simple ride, with authentic views and no frills.

From 9th to 11th May, feast of the Patron Saints Alfio, Filadelfo and Cirino. Among the crucial moments of the festival we remember the exit of the Nuri (naked): At 1:00 on May 10th the Nuri riding the Giro Santo. They are bare-chested, barefoot men, wearing only a pair of short white trousers and a red ribbon, holding one hand behind their back and a candle or a bouquet of flowers in the other. They run through the streets of Lentini remembering the tour that the Holy Martyrs made, amidst atrocious suffering, around the ancient city walls. The women also arrive behind them, barefoot.
