The town hall was built between 1587 and 1588. In addition to council meetings, court proceedings were held there. During the early modern period, the town hall also housed the so-called "Narrenhäusle," where punishments for shameful conduct were carried out. Below the building, you can still find the church cellar, or Gottskeller, where the wine harvest from the local St. Martin's Church was stored. The cellar likely already existed beneath the previous building and dates back to the separation of the parish of Segnitz from Frickenhausen in 1448.
