beautiful dirt section that runs along the course of the Judrio river. The road is always in excellent condition, the crossings on the bridges are paved. The Judrio, which runs under and alongside the road, seems docile but beware that on days of heavy rain it becomes fierce and dangerous like few others. Be aware that the road (as often in Slovenia) although unpaved is open to all motorized traffic.

The medieval house is known as the “oldest house in Cividale” or “goldsmith’s house” or “Casa del Mille”. In fact, this building, dated mid-second half of the 14th century, was supposed to house a goldsmith’s workshop. It seems it was built on a truncated tower. source: https://www.archeocartafvg.it/portfolio-articoli/cividale-del-friuli-ud-la-casa-medievale/

In this area, the Judrio river marks the Italian-Slovenian border for almost the entire valley. Both roads along the Italian side (asphalt) and along the Slovenian side (gravel) are worth a detour.
