Cycling

A fantastic, well-maintained and well-maintained gravel road through the Judrio Valley on the Slovenian side.

Solid surface, very few eroded patches, no potholes, no gutters, paved in exposed areas such as stream crossings and equipped with small bridges. The gradient is extremely gentle, and the gorge-like valley with steep and rugged rock faces along the route adds a touch of adventure.

The stream originates west of Volzana (Slovenia) and for half of its course acts as a border between the two states; the lower part instead marks the demarcation between the provinces of Udine and that of Gorizia. Gravel riding

beautiful dirt section that runs along the course of the Judrio river. The road is always in excellent condition, the crossings on the bridges are paved.
The Judrio, which runs under and alongside the road, seems docile but beware that on days of heavy rain it becomes fierce and dangerous like few others.
Be aware that the road (as often in Slovenia) although unpaved is open to all motorized traffic.
