The best MTB trails around Cernusco Sul Naviglio

There is no single structure with this exact name, but the green area between Parco di Trenno (Parco Aldo Aniasi) and Boscoincittà in the northwest of Milan hosts several important equestrian facilities and historic riding stables.

The Idroscalo of Milan is a large artificial lake and public park located between the municipalities of Segrate and Peschiera Borromeo, historically known as the "sea of Milan". Born in the late 1920s as a seaplane base, it was later converted into a sports and recreational center. Today it represents one of the main green areas and leisure spaces of the Metropolitan City of Milan.

The Muzza Canal is the oldest in Europe and just this year, its 800th anniversary was celebrated by the Municipality of Paullo in collaboration with the Pro Loco and other Municipalities. Its origin dates back to the year 1220, when Frederick II of Swabia, crowned emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, issued an imperial edict that granted the people of Lodi the right to use the waters flowing within their territory. The current route, about 60 km long, receives the waters of the Adda River at Cassano d’Adda, at an altitude of 120 m above sea level, crosses the Lodi territory for about 40 km until near Castiglione d’Adda, at an altitude of 45 m above sea level, and here it releases them back into the Adda River. It has a regulated water regime, with a flow rate, depending on the season, of about 200 thousand liters of water per second; an initial width of 50 meters which reduces to a few meters at the end of its course and an average depth of 2 meters.

Down on the shore of Lake Increa

The Increa Park covers an area of approximately 330,000 sq m (33 hectares) in the southeastern part of the municipality of Brugherio and borders the municipality of Cernusco to the southeast and a stretch of the eastern ring road to the northwest. Where the park is today, there was once an agricultural area, which from the 1960s was the site of sand and gravel extraction activities; then, in 1985, thanks to the variant to the PRG and the agreement between the municipality of Brugherio and some private quarry owners, environmental recovery interventions began, aimed at the creation of a public equipped park including green areas and a small lake. In 1987 the area was acquired by the municipal heritage and in the following twenty years the works were carried out which have led today to having the largest green lung in Brugherio and the surrounding area.

The Morando Library, inaugurated in 2017 at the Fondazione Cineteca Italiana in Milan (Via Tofane 49), is a space specialized in cinema with over 12,000 volumes. The heart of the collection is the fund of the film critic Morando Morandini.

In the Martesana park, increasingly fashionable and lively, the historic tram 1522 from 1928 has been transformed into Tranvai, a bar with a large outdoor area open for aperitifs or a light dinner with sandwiches, hamburgers, or platters. On Sundays, brunch (welcome platter, choice of dish, and desserts, 25 euros). The audience is very varied, from families with children to sports enthusiasts who frequent the park, to those who wish to enjoy a cocktail outdoors.

The "Bagnin de Gorla" was Milan's oldest outdoor swimming pool, located along the Naviglio della Martesana in Gorla, known as a summer meeting place to cool off. It consisted of a small pool fed by the Cavo Taverna, near Cascina Martesana. Today it is a covered exhibition and gathering space.
