The Catholic cemetery chapel of St. John the Baptist is popularly known as the "Friedhofskircherl". It was built after 1789 when the parish cemetery was moved to the "Bauernanger" because the previous cemetery around the church no longer met the needs. On June 24, 1829, the chapel was consecrated. In 2004, the association "Bodenmaiser Geschichte und Kulturdenkmäler" attached four historical 'Totenbretter' (death boards) under the portico of the chapel, which were previously located in the Klause district until 1970. They are reminiscent of the 'Totenbretter' that were placed along the cemetery wall until the 1920s.

The sculpture group shows in detail how, in the 1930s, the suitcases of the first holiday guests were picked up at the train station and transported to the guesthouses.
