Cycling through La Spezia is not necessarily fun. From up here you have a nice overview of the city and the harbor. You can even see the warships of the Italian Navy from here.

Vezzano Ligure is a small village, high on a hill between La Spezia and the Magra Valley. It has a nice little castle at the top, a few bars and also a good hotel. As a location for racing bike tours, it is very suitable, if you are not afraid of the daily driveway of 180 Hm at the end of the tour. But also for tours to and from La Spezia the place is interesting. It offers a low-traffic way from the big city over to the Magra valley. So it's no wonder that you see a lot of local racing cyclists here at the weekend.
