Path Through Wetlands and Dunes

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Anyone who wants something exciting is in good hands here. On the one hand you can hardly find the paths and in addition you have to go over or under the fence. Then the paths were a bit very damp so you had to look for alternative paths (probably not a problem in summer) ... but all in all a great tour ...

Tornby Mountain Bike Trail

Highlight (Segment) • MTB Park

One of the most challenging trails I've ridden in Denmark. Here you have crisp up's and down's and some opportunities for jumps. If you want it easier, follow the red or blue signs and leave out the black sections.

Very nicely laid out trail sections. Mostly blue, partly red passages and black sections that are technically more demanding. Very well signposted. Great for working out 🤙

Access to the MTB trails in Tornby Klitplantage from the beach. Or stop at the end to set off for a relaxing ride home close to the waterline...

If you go this route you should definitely wear long pants. We were out on a warm day and therefore wore shorts. It wasn't a pretty road. Through thorn bushes, nettles, etc... At one point you crawl under an electric fence and you shouldn't forget that from this moment on you are moving on a pasture. In the end there was no way through because the pasture was flooded due to heavy rain the previous days and there was a large herd of male cattle in the vacant areas. There was no getting through. So we had to go all the way back and use the beach path. Otherwise, certainly enjoyed great views!

Wouldn't recommend a visit...it was pretty much a waste of time going there...and we didn't go in either...didn't look very inviting...

In the scenic surroundings of the Tornby Klitplantage lies the Viking village of Yxengaard. Here Yxenborg offers outdoor schools, learning role plays, social education courses, team building and events. With just over 100 beds in our historic tents, hostel and some of our other permanent buildings, there are good opportunities for a unique stay in Yxengaard. There is the possibility of conducting multi-day events such as celebrating a Viking-style wedding, 24-hour role-playing games or the tenant school. The town is way out in the woods, 20 minutes walk from Tornby St. Yxengaard is a beautiful Natura 2000 area and at just 15 minutes' walk, the Viking town is an obvious destination for a camp-school stay. If there is no event, Yxengaard can be used as an overnight stay, according to the association's guidelines. Also, no one had anything against looking at everything when no one was present. It looks like a huge open-air museum. Totally interesting.
