From October 1944 to April 1945, a subcamp of the Natzweiler/Alsace concentration camp operated in Unterriexingen as a subcamp of the Wiesengrund concentration camp in Vaihingen an der Enz. At the end of 1944, approximately 500 Jewish prisoners were employed for forced labor (at the Großsachsenheim air base, tunnel construction for an underground munitions factory, barrack construction, quarry work, and clearing work after air raids in Stuttgart and the surrounding area).
