The Burgstall Aubing, mostly called Teufelsburg, was a tower hill castle, i.e. a moth, which was built in the 10th century but was abandoned in the 14th century. So this castle is 300 years older than most medieval castles, most of which were built in the 13th century. But it is only a stable and not a ruin. The last stones of the castle were sold about 100 years ago for 45 Kreuzer. Pity! But you can see the typical truncated cone shape of the former Turmhügleburg very well. With great effort, a moat was dug which is circular in plan. The excavation was piled up inside the circle. For structural reasons, the typical motte residential tower could only be erected with sufficient distance to the edge of the artificially heaped truncated cone. The rest of the fortification was secured with a palisade fence. These moths were reserved for the lower nobility or the ministries.
