Gudower See is a lake in the municipality of Gudow in the Schleswig-Holstein district of Herzogtum Lauenburg, in the Lauenburg Lakes Nature Park. A really great tradition that unfortunately no longer exists or is very rare nowadays. The last time we experienced this in real life was many years ago, around the turn of the millennium at Pentecost on Amrum, but not with horses, but with our motorbikes. We went there in a group over Pentecost and spent the night in a two-man tent on the campsite in wonderfully rustic surroundings. It was really great and the next day we took part in the "ring riding" with our motorbikes. A great event. I rode across the meadow at walking pace on my motorbike, Marlies stood behind me on the footrests and had to try to hit the rings with a spear...it was really difficult! You wouldn't believe it! We weren't very successful either, but we had a lot of fun. We could certainly repeat it here with bikes. Wouldn't that be an idea to revive this good, old tradition?
