Beware of dog walkers! I've been knocked off my bike on occasions by stray dogs looking for their owners who totally oblivious to cyclists.

I revisited this in dry summer, and it was a pleasure to ride. The "mud bath" section seems to have been filled with fresh gravel (see photo), so fingers crossed for the future.

Entering from the west, this seems like a reasonably well-drained gravel road, generally to be recommended, but the eastern third ended up muddy and rutted. I carried my bike on muddy ground around a larger puddle, with the rest ridden on narrow grassy strip on the road's shoulder.
