Bihac presents itself as a rather desolate city with ruins from socialist times and architectural atrocities from post-socialist times and oversized advertising facilities. The historic watermills on the Una Islands were also demolished. On my tour in 1989! I was able to experience Bihac as a city that is still strongly reminiscent of Ottoman times.

Seen from afar one can assume to reach a pretty little town. However, in the city you will be quite disappointed, nothing that reminds you of its history has been preserved. Photos are attached to one facade showing how beautiful the city was.
