April 25, 2026, 50th Street Afton State Park Trailhead

A small trailhead on the North end of the park. Was able to see trails that I haven't seen before, simply because of a new access point. Plus it's way less crowded, although a lot more crowded then I thought it would be.

Big junction out in the prairie. Pit toilet with a shelter.

This is not something you see at all campgrounds, that's for sure. A solar powered well and a place to cut your own firewood.

One of the neatest places in the park. An old stone gate, a windmill blade set, a plow, and a shelter. Neat when they can preserve a bit of what the parks land was before it was a park.

Usable for paddling the river and staying overnight.

Watching the Alps turn from a ski resort back to a golf course is an interesting time for sure!

Beach on the river. Not too busy even when all the parking lots were mostly full.
