The Gary L. Haller Trail is a 13-mile trail that runs through several parks and across multiple types of landscapes. There are several access points to the trail and some have parking lots.

Lenexa Dam is a beautiful, elaborate structure built in 2006. Its walls feature Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) technology, also called reinforced soil, which is faster and easier to install than solid concrete walls.

At the docks you can walk alongside the water to admire the wetland and its partially submerged trees and wildlife. The docks are floating boardwalks that extend out onto the southern portion of the lake.
