June 30, 2026, Torre de Calaceite

The Calaceite tower is a 16th-century watchtower that stands on a cliff about 40 meters high, on the coast of Torrox. It was part of the network of almenara towers that used bonfires to warn of the arrival of Barbary pirates. Today it is preserved on private land, so it can only be viewed from below. At its feet, the sea holds another treasure: the wreck of the Delfín, a steamship sunk in 1937 during the Civil War, today one of the most visited diving spots on the Costa del Sol.

Here, life is filled with sunshine, joy, and love, enjoyed on airy terraces (if you're lucky enough to have one), and you can truly let your soul soar! 👍🦅

Frigiliana is a beautiful town that you can cycle through early in the morning, before the numerous tourists who visit it invade. It's definitely worth it, especially if you do it as the start of a route like a Frigiliana-Competa circular route, as I did.

A group of houses with a small chapel and even a restaurant (with very high prices), surrounded by forest. A beautiful area.

A bright white village clinging to the mountainside with superb views of the mountains and the sea. We do not recommend cycling up the path suggested by komoot, unless you are fit and on a mountain bike. It is very steep. Better to take the normal road (MA 5105)

Small village in the hinterland with one or two nice restaurants. If you're coming with a rental car, either good tire insurance or an SUV/off-road vehicle

A place straight out of a picture book Fun Fact: Every owner is obliged to paint their house white every three years!
