As per the title - there's a path by the Grotto that is permanently closed, sadly - so you may end up having to double back. But it's pretty either way

Arrive at the bottom for midday on a sunny day to get the glorious sunshine on the pool. Great stream wading for children on the other side of the path.

It's a dead end path but lovely view of the Avon from the Grotto - a little shelter

Pretty stretch of path running alongside the Avon between Pill and Bristol, passing under the spectacular Clifton suspension bridge. Can be narrow and muddy in places, so go careful.

Stop for a rest at this peaceful pond at the bottom of the lane, but watch out for the electric fence!
