A small local cafe with friendly staff serving up breakfast, cakes and drinks in the morning. At 10am on a Sunday morning. they were busy and not able to accomodate a group of 12 cyclists who turned up without a booking. Coffee here is fine, hardly artisinal but get your carbs on with their breakfast sandwiches on bloomer.

Nice little coffee stop coming out of Epping Forest after Mott St climb. Great selection of cakes, friendly staff and tables to sit at. Itβs off the road and easy to miss. Take the first turn after Piercing Hill when heading east.

Lambourne Church was built in the 12th century, but almost entirely reconstructed in the 13th century. It's a white-painted building with a beautiful weather boarded belfry and a lead covered broach spire that soars out the top. It's in a really peaceful spot in the rural Essex countryside and in close reach from London.
