January 7, 2025, Templar Castle of Fregenal de la Sierra

This castle was entrusted to the Knights Templar in the 13th century. The castle has seven towers, the most notable of which is the Torre del Homenaje, which has a bell tower from the 18th century. Inside the fortress are the Plaza de Toros, built at the end of the 18th century, and the Plaza de Abastos, which dates from the beginning of the 20th century. In addition, the Church of Santa María and the Parish House are attached.

The Hermitage of the Queen of the Angels is a Catholic temple located in the Peña de Arias Montano, belonging to the town of Alájar. Every September 8, it hosts the pilgrimage of the Queen of the Angels, the one that summons the most pilgrims in the Sierra de Aracena region.

From its position you can see beautiful views of the southern area of the Sierra and the oak forest that decorates the mountains and the less abundant, mountain plains.
