The Maximilianspfad leads along a narrow path through the middle of the Banzwald forest along a slope. A beautiful path that gives you the feeling of being far away from the hustle and bustle, even though the famous Banz monastery is not far away.

The Benedictine Abbey of Banz, founded around 1070, was the oldest monastery in the Upper Main region and existed until secularization in 1803. In 1978, the complex was transferred to the Hanns Seidel Foundation, which is close to the CSU, and today serves as a conference venue; the abbey church belongs to the local parish.
