Near the former cotton bleaching works is the Three Emperors' Hall on Schweinsheimer Straße. Its name commemorates the German imperial year of 1888: Wilhelm I (who died in March), Frederick III (who died after only 99 days), and Wilhelm II. The former ballroom/banquet hall later became a cultural center in Holweide for decades. Referred to as the "Gürzenich of the neighborhood" or jokingly the "Holweide Gürzenich," it served as a dance hall, cinema, and community hall. It was run by the owner of the "Groß" restaurant, which was located opposite on the corner of Kaspar-Düppes-Straße (now residential). The Three Emperors' Hall building was converted by the architect Schmidthaber into five loft-style terraced houses for rent.

An old castle complex surrounded by water fed by the Strunder Bach stream. First mentioned in 1345, it was sold to Bruno Wasser in 1983 and extensively renovated. Between 1985 and 2011, part of the castle was used as the upscale Restaurant Isenburg, featuring an outdoor dining area suitable for film sets, located directly on the moat. The restaurant earned a good reputation. After the restaurant closed in 2011, an orchard with old, local apple varieties was planted between Isenburg and Johan-Bensberg-Straße. Once ripe, the apples are free for anyone to pick.

The city of Cologne was surrounded by a double ring of fortifications under Prussian administration (from 1815). These fortifications had to be dismantled after 1919 due to the Treaty of Versailles. Together with the Roman city wall, the medieval city wall, and the inner and outer Prussian fortifications, remnants of four different fortification systems can be found in Cologne.
