Everything was great there. We had 5 nights there in May 2026. Nice rooms, super breakfast, nice room for cozy get-togethers, beautifully landscaped courtyard with lots of greenery, enough parking spaces, friendly people, lockable storage room for bicycles. We can warmly recommend this guesthouse.

The foundation stone for the building, originally intended as a residence for single brothers, was laid in July 1746. The lower rooms were ready for occupancy in December of the same year. Until a prayer and community hall was built on the opposite side of the square, the hall on the first floor was used for church services and meetings of the entire community. The house was given a new purpose when the Moravian boarding schools were relocated to Niesky. In September 1751, the students of the Unity Boys' Institution temporarily moved into the rooms. From 1760, the Pedagogical Institute occupied the house as a secondary school. The Moravian boarding schools were widely known for their comprehensive and humanistic education.

The watchtower in Niesky was once intended to be a signpost for people to their homeland. The small white signs on top of its viewing platform are evidence of this: Ullersdorf, Jänkendorf, Schneekoppe, Landeskrone or Biehain are written on them.

The first tower was made of wood and was destroyed in a storm in 1833. In 1835 it was replaced by the current stone tower.
