The church of the Evangelical Lutheran parish of the same name in Lengefeld was rebuilt in 1885 on the site of a previous, smaller church that had serious structural defects after being struck by lightning and then burned down. The lower part of the tower of the old church was preserved. In addition, the Hildebrandt organ was transferred from the old church to the new one. The church has been almost completely renovated in several stages over the last two decades.
