The climb from Orsières to Ferret is highly recommended. You need around 18km to overcome a good 800 metres in altitude. There are always flatter sections where you can relax. The further you drive into the valley, the smaller the road becomes and the more breathtaking the nature. A trip up to the Val Ferret is particularly worthwhile in autumn. That's when the larches shine wonderfully golden. Together with the snow-covered peaks and the blue sky, this creates an incredible natural spectacle. The road leads through La Fouly and Ferret to a car park below the Alpage Les Ars Dessous. From there, two hiking trails lead further up towards the peak, which marks the border with Italy.

Orsières, located at an altitude of 900 metres, is a charming village in the canton of Valais. Up here, a pleasant and relatively dry climate prevails, protected by the flanks of the surrounding mountains, including the Catogne. This village has a few architectural sights, of which the church and the bell tower are certainly the highlights, but the wooden bridge also attracts a lot of attention. In summer, Orsières is an ideal starting point for activities, such as climbing the Aiguille d’Argentière (3901 metres) or as a passage point to the Saint-Bernard pass. In winter, Orsières is less than 20 minutes from ski resorts such as Champex-Lac, La Fouly, Vichères, the Espace Super Saint-Bernard and even Verbier les quatre vallées, one of the largest and most beautiful ski resorts in Europe.
