The Rostock sculptor Jo Jastram designed the sculptures at the Museum Harbour in the 1970s for a fisherman's fountain, which was originally to be erected on the large market square. After the project failed, three figures were taken for a smaller fountain variant as part of the redesign of the Fischmarkt in 1998/99. The other figures were stored. Since 2016, seven works of art have adorned the redesigned promenade at the Greifswald Museum Harbour: a sundial with a map, the fisherman's breakfast, three stacked fish crates, a bollard with a cat, a seagull on a small bollard, a fisherman's dog and the sculpture of the Klabautermann.

Stralsund's museum harbor is located directly on the waterfront and displays a number of historic ships that bear witness to the Hanseatic city's long maritime tradition. Cyclists can easily reach the harbor via the waterfront promenade and take a break there to admire the vintage sailing ships and traditional boats. Snack stands and small restaurants directly at the harbor also invite you to stop for refreshments – the fresh fish sandwiches are particularly delicious, making for a perfect end to the visit and a delightful stop during your bike ride.
