What a beautiful path - always through pure nature. Simply wonderful!!! ...and you can never get lost on it on the way Greifswald to the Bodden ;-) On the towpath, ships were formerly towed upstream by humans or draft animals into the city harbor.

On the way to Koos Island, you also pass the new moor pavilion. Unfortunately, you are not allowed to enter the island. The path there is also well suited for bird watching.

As a designated nature reserve, specific rules apply to protect the sensitive ecosystems and wildlife. While dogs are generally welcome, they must be kept on a leash at all times to prevent disturbance to breeding birds and other animals, especially in areas like the Kooser Wiesen and Wampener Riff.
The region is rich in natural beauty. You can visit the Observation Platform at Greifswalder Bodden for expansive views, or explore the unique salt marshes of the Karrendorfer Wiesen. The Wampener Kliff is also a notable feature, providing nesting sites for sand martins. Keep an eye out for diverse bird species, especially during migration.
Yes, many of the trails are designed as loops, allowing you to start and end at the same point. A popular option is the View of the Bodden loop, which offers scenic coastal views over 5.4 km.
Spring and autumn are particularly rewarding, as these seasons offer prime opportunities for birdwatching during migration. The salt marshes and coastal areas are vibrant with life. Summer is also pleasant for coastal walks, but be aware of potential mosquitoes, especially near wetlands. Winter hiking is possible, offering a different, quieter perspective of the landscape.

Due to the coastal and wetland nature of the region, mosquitoes can be present, especially during warmer months and after rain. It's advisable to bring insect repellent.
