At its southernmost point, Hamburg's Elbe River presents itself in majestic breadth and beauty. It is here, nestled in a unique landscape, that the Zollenspieker Yacht Club is located. https://www.yachtclub-zollenspieker.de/

After 10 to 15 years of planning and a relatively short construction phase of around 1.5 years, the school was moved into by the students of the Kirchwerder district school on January 6, 2025. From the outside, the school is certainly something special and with a little imagination you can even see two old farmhouses in it, as the plan envisaged. To me, the two blocks, as they are called, have something of a container ship about them, which ultimately suits Hamburg. Inside, the walls are made of gray exposed concrete and will probably stay that color. The classrooms are relatively small. The classrooms are in the block on Marschbahndamm, and the specialist rooms and teachers' rooms are in the rear block on Kirchenheerweg. The schoolyard makes a large, modern and sporty impression, but appears comparatively small for the 1200 students. The buildings are very modern with a photovoltaic system on the roof and are highly praised for their environmental friendliness. It remains to be hoped that the teaching will reach a standard as high as the buildings. This school is the only secondary school in the Vier- and Marschlanden and replaces the old school on Kirchwerder Hausdeich, which consisted of many containers.
