Beautiful and surprisingly quiet in both directions, with a lovely beer garden at the Gasthof Tanne in Eisenbach near Kreuzthal. The menu is manageable, and some items are a bit pricey, but the craftsmanship is very good. The sorbet is simply fantastic; it was served very simply, and I wished there was something around it before my first bite; that would only spoil the experience.

Beautiful crossing over the Haldenwanger Bach. Two options: a) Use the bridge or, like a pensioner, speed through the ford -> resulting in wet feet. You'll be cursed.

I'm going from Reintal to Walzlings, and the road from Schmidberg seems to have been rebuilt and is a wonderful ride. It's a shame the route is so short. At the end of the bypass, there's a cross and very small signs; to the right, you'll get to Wiggensbach. The route from Frauenzell to Wiggensbach is scenic and fairly quiet. I live in Kempten and will definitely drive there again.

A beautiful chapel that unfortunately fell victim to vandals in the late 80s. The altarpiece is now a reconstruction
