The 14th-century brick church has a choir with a cross-vaulted bay, and the half-timbered tower dates from 1745. It has suffered severe war damage since 1945. In the spring of 1945, an ammunition train standing on the nearby railway embankment was bombed, as was the hospital train that also stopped there. Remains of provisionally buried victims can still be found during excavation work near the railway.

On June 7, 1222, the Antonine monastery in Tempzin was founded as a hospital by Heinrich Borwin I, his wife Adelheid, and his sons from his first marriage, Heinrich Borwin II and Nikolaus II. The church is a three-nave country house of enormous proportions, as one would hardly expect in the flat countryside. The vaults are from the early 16th century, and in the side aisle even only from 1909 - 12.

The church, worth seeing, was built around 1300 as a brick building, mainly with Wendish bond.
