The Rittergut Streithorst was intended to secure the borderland against the counties of Tecklenburg and Oldenburg, which in turn also wanted to claim local territories. Initially, the Streithorst family lived here from 1304 onwards. The current building, however, dates from 1864 and is set back slightly, so it is not easily visible from the road. The Rittergut is today owned by a member of the noble family von Bussche-Hünnefeld.

As a hiker, you are more of a nuisance on this section of the path, as the path along the Hunte is a designated cycle path. Nevertheless, it is beautiful here and there are also more than enough resting places.

A viaduct typically consists of several arches, piers, or columns that allow for a smooth alignment and often connect two points at the same level to cross a valley, road, or riverbed. Unlike simple bridges, which span a single obstacle, viaducts are multi-span and can consist of a series of interconnected bridges.

A very sturdily built and impressive shelter. The panoramic view is also unique. Looking out over the Argelith site, you almost feel like a factory spy.

Streithorst Manor Remains of this castle still exist. The Streithorst manor was the ancestral seat of a family of the same name, first documented in 1304. In 1862, the old Streithorst manor house, a simple one-story structure, was demolished. A new manor house was built in 1864 using its stones and those of the Schweger manor house, which had also been demolished. The manor house was destroyed by fire in 1992. All that remains is a round sandstone Renaissance fountain.
