A small pond in a residential area. In the right season, a pair of swans breeds here.

This is a nice place for a break. The "open-plan design" certainly isn't to everyone's taste.

I find the rose trees in front of the houses here particularly beautiful. They can also be seen here in front of the town hall.

April 19, 2024, Dankeskirche Sehlen

The neo-Gothic brick church was built in 1866 and is located on a hill surrounded by the cemetery. It is 18.50 m long, 11.80 m wide and measures 12 m high up to the ridge, which is surpassed by 7 m by the slender, four-storey west tower with a simple gable roof. The hall-like nave is adjoined by a polygonal apse. The choir and nave are dominated by the strong buttresses. The high, large pointed arch windows end at the height of the galleries that run around the nave on three sides. The new parish room is architecturally original; it was separated from the nave by a glass wall and door in 1993/94 and is located under the gallery, where the organ is also located. The organ was built in 1887 by Friedrich A. Mehmel from Stralsund. In 1999 it was thoroughly restored by the organ builder Wolter from Zudar/Rügen. The pulpit, like the first stone altar, dates from 1866. A new altar made of Pomeranian oak was erected in 1999. The rose window of the entrance portal was renovated in 2001. Every second Sunday a service is held at 9 a.m. and there are summer music events. https://www.auf-nach-mv.de/reiseziele/a-dankeskirche-in-sehlen

February 20, 2024, Putbus Town Hall

Today's town hall in Putbus was built before 1830 by Brauer Schwartz. He rented the building to the Baroness von Platen and later received the princely concession for a hook and victual goods trade. From 1862 to 1898 the building housed the postal expedition and the post office. At the beginning of the 1930s, the Putbus municipal office moved into the front building. This has been used as the town hall since it was granted city charter in 1960. In 2007 the first town house sign was awarded to the town hall. https://www.auf-nach-mv.de/reiseziel/a-rathaus-putbus
