Come visit us in the “Hutewald” Saupark Springe. We are a herd of Scottish highland cattle and live all year round in the 20 hectare “Gelbbachtal” in the Osterwald between Eldagsen and Coppenbrügge (L422). A species-rich park-like forest and pasture landscape with beech, oak and alder trees is to be created here. The spruce trees had to give way for this. Many amphibian species such as frogs, newts and toads have become native since the project started in 2015. The terrain is also often visited by a wild cat. In May 2019, around 30,000 bees consumed a log hive. The historic Miners' Trail leads through the Osterwald. This old route used to be used by workers to get to the mines and quarries and materials and goods were transported along it. The yellow miners' signs lead via Dörpe and Salzburg on beautiful nature paths to the town of Osterwald. Hikers are also rewarded with a great view of the Weserbergland. When you arrive in Osterwald, a hut tunnel can be visited.
