A great idea from the ADAC (German Automobile Club). Here you'll find an air pump and tools for minor repairs. According to the signage, there's even a bicycle breakdown service for members.

This beautiful post mill is located in the former area of the Borna-Ost opencast mine, today on a tilted hill on the outskirts of Schönau, where the mill stands out from the town skyline in terms of urban planning. However, its former location was in Breunsdorf, over 10 km away, which had to give way to the Vereinigtes Schleenhain opencast mine from 1989 to 1994. It was built there in 1862 as the town's second mill for Lois Winter, where it remained in operation until 1942. Moving the mill was the only way to preserve it. This was preceded by negotiations in 1985. In 1986 the mill fell off the trestle due to a lack of structural maintenance. The reconstruction and partial reconstruction took place between 1991 and 1993. Construction at the new location in Schönau took place between 1994 and 1995. The year 1994 and the initials “EH” are inscribed on the concrete foundation. The post mill with Sterz & wood-clad mill box is 13 m high. The diameter of the blind wings measures 19 m. The technical equipment for grinding has not been completely preserved. The weather vane with a hatchet and oak leaf, the initials “AH” for the former owner and the dates “1862” and “1995” manifest the mill’s history. Although the original structure has not been completely preserved, the mill can be described as a memorial to the former Breunsdorf residents and, in the context of the numerous local devastations caused by lignite, in which only very few buildings were preserved through redevelopment, can also be viewed as a social-historical testimony. It also has significance in the history of technology.
