I made a short detour to this beautiful property. Apparently, a mill stood on this site as early as 1367. The current complex is now in its sixth generation and is used solely as a residence.

The approximately 1.8 km long circular path around the Richrather Lake is a relatively easy hiking trail. However, it is not suitable for people with walking disabilities or wheelchairs, as the paths are very uneven and the roots are raised. It is a quarry lake used by anglers. Grass carp, roach, eel, catfish, perch, bream and pike are found here. It is a breeding ground for many birds. Large fields of water lilies and water birds can be seen in summer. The anglers' home is occasionally open, but it does not live up to its name - there is no fresh fish. Otherwise, there is a beautiful view of the lake from the beer garden.

I came to this beautiful park purely by chance because it caught my eye as a green area on the Komoot map when I was planning. Cycling is not allowed in the park, however.

Along the Burbach: In some places, the paths directly along the stream are impassable due to fallen trees. As of May 2024

Strawberries, asparagus and much more from local cultivation! The "Riethrather Hof" has existed for three generations and over 40 years, where fruit such as strawberries, raspberries, currants, apples, gooseberries, plums and others are grown on over 20 hectares. The farm shop offers various foods from the region all year round. Once a year there is a strawberry festival and in the autumn there is a potato festival on the farm. Always very busy. When the weather is nice there is a small terrace in front of the farm shop and occasionally a small café is open.
