When the water level is normal, the stream can be easily crossed using stepping stones. In heavy rain or when the water level is high, the stones are too shallow; it is advisable to take the signposted alternative route of 1.7 km!

"The Rheinbach station was built together with all the stations on the Bonn - Euskirchen line (except Witterschlick) during the construction of the line in the years 1878 to 1880. This building was also designed by the architect Johannes `Jodocus´ Richter (born April 1, 1842 - died December 31, 1889). However, it was based on his own plan - although it is very similar to the buildings in Odendorf and Kuchenheim. This reception building - the mirror image of which was built in Meckenheim - is a little larger than the buildings mentioned above and therefore has a slightly different layout of the rooms. The Rheinbach reception building is, alongside the one in Meckenheim, the only brick building from the early days of the railway line that has been largely preserved in its original condition and is therefore rightly listed as a historical monument today..."
