The Rhine is a mighty river. "Absolutely fast-flowing" Even though I swam in the Rhine at an official swimming area (Oppenheim lido), it should be enjoyed with absolute caution. "Like a lazy river" You should always keep your feet close to the bank so you can dig them into the ground immediately if you're in danger of an abortion. Really 🤨No fun ❗️❗️❗️. I was thrilled for a moment. ✔️

Because of swine fever, most of the area is cordoned off. There's even an electric fence, as if the wild boars were swimming across the Rhine to Hesse. Strange.

The Oppenheim Rhine beach is located in the middle of a nature reserve. Relaxing is wonderful on the large lawn and the sand and pebble beach on the Rhine. You can sit comfortably in an adjacent restaurant with a terrace. Oppenheim is very easy to reach by regional train. From the Oppenheim train station it is another two kilometers through a forest to the bathing area. Parking spaces directly at the lido are very limited. It is best to come by bike or on foot. https://www.rheinhessen.de/a-strandbad-oppenheim
