A very beautiful garden show - but you can get through it in about 1-1.5 hours - lots of forest.

Lippspringe Castle, first mentioned in 1312, served the Paderborn Cathedral Chapter as an alternative residence and protection of their property. It experienced several sieges and destruction over the centuries, including by Count Otto von Waldeck in 1350 and almost complete destruction in 1414. It was damaged again in the Thirty Years' War. After the Seven Years' War it fell into ruins. The outer bailey was rebuilt in the 1760s, and after secularization in 1803 the ruins became a Prussian state domain.
