Fabrizio Garofolo
May 24, 2026, Parrocchia di San Germano Vescovo

The Parish Church of San Germano Vescovo is the main church of Varzi and one of the most important religious monuments in the Oltrepò Pavese. It is located in the heart of the medieval village, in Largo Paolo Savini.

The Voghera-Varzi Greenway is 35 km long and from Voghera to Varzi it always has an incline of around 1-2%. It is fully asphalted but I think the best choise is a gravel bike, not a road bike, cuz the asphalt is bumpy due to the roots of the trees and is usually dirty and covered by the leaves and branches of trees. This is ofc naturally so, because it goes always fully in the woods/surrounded by trees.

The Voghera–Varzi Greenway is one of the most beautiful cycle paths in Oltrepò Pavese, ideal for a trip in nature between plain and hill.

The farmhouses among the rice paddies are one of the most characteristic elements of the agricultural landscape of the Po Valley, particularly between Piedmont and Lombardy.
