During our visit, we weren't sure why Merlin might have ended up in the northern part of the Eifel, but with an attraction like this, logic isn't the primary consideration. Still, it's a fun activity for kids...

A new tourist attraction, the likes of which Eifel hikers have occasionally encountered elsewhere. Given its size, even the legendary inhabitant of the Bohemian and Silesian Giant Mountains (whom it's better not to mention by name) could easily fit in here. 😊

This loop is great for hiking and relaxing with children. Start at the parking lot in Urft. At the fork, don't continue toward Nettersheim, but continue on the path to the far left. It's a loop around Gut Neuwerk.

A new enchanted forest has been created here, with lots of wonderful mythical creatures. Each station has a short story and tasks for the children. What's especially great is that each task is designed to empower and encourage children in specific situations! Children are asked to perform an activity and say things like, "I like myself," "I can achieve anything I set my mind to," "I am important," etc. I think that's really nice.

The Eifel Loop "At the Time of the Romans" takes you through the Geistal Nature Reserve with its wide, colorful meadows. The Roman Road Via adventure area runs through here. Once you reach the top of the ridge, you can enjoy the expansive view over the Northern Eifel.

The Margaretenhof organic dairy farm kindly allows you to walk across its pastures to the farm café. It's more pleasant than taking the route along the country road. And of course, you can stop off at the café, which has two lovely terraces, for a break.
