First stumbled upon the heading of this highlight. I hadn't seen the Adolfosee in connection with the Schwalm-Nette Nature Park. However, an inquiry with Google AI confirmed this, and the nature park lists the lake itself on its website, even offering herb walks there. What I found even more interesting was the information that there are efforts to extend the park area further south in the future and to integrate the Rurtal valley in the Hückelhoven area up to the municipal border near Rurich, including the nature reserve with the bluebells near Baal. Likewise along the Wurm river to Geilenkirchen Source: Kreis Viersen https://share.google/WkFiPuwi1csUjz5fF

The bridge is very narrow. In case of oncoming traffic, you have to coordinate who gets to go.

From this vantage point, a magnificent panorama unfolds over the Schaagbach stream, where the water flows peacefully through the landscape. Small rapids and reflective pools create a play of light and movement, while the surrounding greenery provides a serene backdrop. Birds and insects provide a subtle soundtrack to nature, and if you look closely, you might even spot a frog or dragonfly along the bank.

The Doodhoutmoor in the Schaagbachtal is an intriguing and ecologically valuable wetland on the border between Germany and the Netherlands. With its alder swamp forests, springs, deadwood, and hidden streams, it is a paradise for biodiversity and hiking enthusiasts. The area invites quiet wonder. Here, nature speaks through deadwood and still water about life cycles and hidden treasures.
