This spot was awarded two stars by the Regional Landscape Kempen and Maasland. The beautiful scenery of this pond not only attracts hikers and nature lovers, water birds also seek temporary or permanent refuge in this water feature. Grey heron or great white egret wade through the pond, a kingfisher in flight, osprey and cormorant in the tops of some tall trees, duck species floating on the water... let yourself be surprised by what can be seen on the water today. The church was built in 1887 to a design by architect J. Kayser (Venlo, 1842-1917), a pupil of P.J.H. Cuypers, and one of the most important Dutch architects in the field of church construction. He built the church in the style of North German brick Gothic, a style that characterised his work from the late 1870s onwards. The typical characteristics of his work - the deep-set windows, the use of the stepped gable and glazed brick - can also be found in this church. Restoration in 1911 by H. Martens (Stevoort). The church was unfortunately enlarged in 1929, causing Kayser's original concept to be lost: the current western section (transept and choir) and the tower date from this campaign. Hall church of six bays with transept in the fifth bay, choir of one straight bay with five-sided closure, side choirs against the last bay, tower on the left side of the front facade of the nave, staircase turret on the right side of it, and sacristy on the right side.
