The former monastery and Winter Chapel form the library's new home in the center of Hamme. The renovated building is full of charm. The position of the columns and pillars in the chapel determined the design; a new mezzanine adds an extra level. White shelving was chosen to emphasize the light in the space. Color accents come from the collection itself and the seating elements in shades of blue and green, the colors of the municipality of Hamme. The curved lines of the round shelving units for the informational books give the space a more informal atmosphere. (SBNL - Schulz Benelux BV)
