You wouldn't guess it, but this very spot once housed the Waalwijk train station. The only remaining reminder of the station is the statue you're standing in front of: "Waving Woman with Child." The bronze statue depicts a mother and child waving goodbye to their father, the traveling salesman, as he sets off with his homemade shoes to sell them in the big city.

A memory and tribute to the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart who stayed in the monastery on the Eerste Zeine from 1910 to 1960. The statue is the work of Netty Werkman. More information on the information board at the statue and the Nonnekesbrug.

You wouldn't say it, but the Waalwijk station once stood on this exact spot. The only memory left of the station is the statue in front of you: 'waving woman with child'. The bronze statue shows a mother and child waving goodbye to father the traveling salesman at the train. He goes out with his homemade shoes to sell them in the big city. The statue is a tribute to the shoemakers from Waalwijk who played an important role in the development of the region. If you look closely, you will see that the pedestal on which the statue stands resembles a piece of a platform. The work was presented to the residents of the city in March 2014 on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of Lions Club Waalwijk and was made by Astrid Koppen.

Dye Sprancke is a flour mill on the Oudestraat in Sprang. It is a closed standard mill from originally 1747. The mill is covered with roofing felt and has a radius of 26 meters. On April 4, 1855, the Sprang mill burned down and the current mill in Vrijhoeve-Capelle was purchased as a replacement.
