The two ornamental hardstone balustrades with a ball crowning at the entrance suggest that this is no ordinary house, and that is correct: the robust building is a hunting lodge in neo-Renaissance style on the Leusveld estate, located between Eerbeek and Brummen.

The first time Leusveld is mentioned is in the 17th century. At the time it was a farm, which was not on the site of the current house. Only much later, at the beginning of the 19th century, was this house built, intended as a hunting lodge. Architecture enthusiasts will see that two styles were used in its construction: Art Nouveau and Neo-Renaissance. Both the house and the nearby coach house and entrance gate are officially national monuments.

A fairytale-like bridge over the water at the Voorstonden estate. When the forests turn into a color spectacle in autumn, this place is truly magical.

The current form of Huis Voorstonden dates from 1871. The original house is probably much older, given the cellars dating from the 14th-16th century. The house is built in classicist style. The gardens surrounding the house were designed in the 1920s. The gardens are geometrically laid out and you will find many roses and boxwood.

From the b and b in leuvenheim I have linked these 2 walks together; they can be followed in 2 directions, some paths can be very wet!

In 1904, Carel Anton Willem Nairac buys two farms in Hall with farmland and woods. One of them bears the name Leusveld. In 1911, Nairac had a comfortable hunting lodge and coach house built on his newly acquired property. The design in the neo-Renaissance style is by the Apeldoorn architect J.A. hill link. n Voorstonden is also the castle Huis Voorstonden. It dates back to the Middle Ages but has since been thoroughly renovated. The House includes a park designed by Jan David Zocher. The southern garden has recently been reconstructed from an early twentieth century design by Leonard Springer. The estate also houses the thickest giant sequoia in the Netherlands. This tree was planted in 1865 and has a circumference of 8.3 meters (https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voorstonden)
