Over the paths of the Voorstonden

Today's tour is more than 2 kilometers long and goes over the paths of the Voorschoten estate. You will discover this beautiful park forest in the company of old oaks and impressive beeches.

You immediately take a look at Huis Voorstanden. The current shape of the house dates back to the 19th century, but the original house probably dates from much longer ago. The cellars date from the 14th-16th century and the canal was built in the 16th century. Whatever it is about all those years, one thing is certain: it is an imposing classicist building, with beautiful geometrically landscaped gardens.

You continue the route along the paths of the estate past roses, boxwood and serene ponds. At one point you arrive at a fairytale bridge, where you take a picture for the home front. If you take the route in autumn, this scene is even more magical with all the colors around you. When you are satisfied with the photos, you will return to Huis Voorstonden via the idyllic paths.

Take some treats with you in the backpack. Next to the starting point is a picnic area that is also accessible for wheelchairs, so you can enjoy your sandwich and a drink in the green before or after the trip.
