The Deutschordensschloss in Ełk (formerly Lyck) is the ruin of a Teutonic Knights' castle from the late 14th century, built between 1398 and 1406 under Ulrich von Jungingen. The complex, which later served as a ducal seat and prison, is picturesquely located on an island in Lake Ełk in the Polish region of Masuria. The old castle is currently being renovated. Unfortunately, the castle is not open to the public. After a decade or more of neglect, the building is currently undergoing renovation. However, its intended use is primarily for hotel and restaurant services.

A route for walkers and cyclists and, most importantly, it is much less frequented than the promenade on the other side of the lake.

After many years of stagnation, counting from when the castle changed owners, one can finally see the changes taking place. If one looks at photos of the castle from a few years ago, or even a year ago, one will notice positive images.
