The observation tower in Dzintari Mežaparks offers an impressive perspective of Jūrmala and its surroundings. Climbing the almost 30-meter-high structure opens up a view of the dense pine forests that stretch all the way to the Baltic Sea. Especially on clear days, you can enjoy a wide view that gives a good impression of Latvia's unique coastal landscape. The tower itself is a modern architectural highlight and blends harmoniously into the natural surroundings of the park. The ascent is via wide, safe stairs that wind around the tower and offer different levels to enjoy the view from different heights. Dzintari Mežaparks, known for its clean and well-maintained grounds, is a popular place for families, joggers and cyclists who want to enjoy nature close to the city. The tower is the icing on the cake of the park and an incentive for many to visit this place and experience the fresh sea air at a slightly different height.

The climbing park at Dzintaru Mežaparks, known as “Jūrmala’s Tarzāns”, offers a varied adventure for climbing enthusiasts and families in the treetops of the pine forest. With over 98 different obstacles, including rope bridges and wooden platforms, and a 250-meter-long zip line that runs through the treetops, the park attracts visitors of all ages. The seven different courses vary in difficulty and offer something for everyone - whether children or adults. In addition to the climbing attractions, “Tīklu Parks” also has a separate net climbing area, which is located at a height of around six meters and consists of various nets, slides and even a “swamp” made of nets. This area is particularly attractive for younger children and offers a safe environment with no age limit. Reservations are not required here, so spontaneous visits are possible. There is a little criticism, however, for the waiting times at the climbing stations, especially on weekends, but the experience is still worth it. The park is located close to the beach and invites you to take a stroll along the coast after an active day in the park and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of Jūrmala. Overall, Dzintaru Mežaparks is an ideal combination of nature experience and activity, offering both peace and adventure.

Stretching for miles along the Gulf of Riga, Jūrmala Beach has a long tradition as a spa and seaside resort and has been attracting visitors since the 19th century. It was a sought-after holiday destination for the elite, especially during the Soviet era, and you can still feel that touch of history today as you stroll between the historic villas and charming beach houses. Here, where the fine, light sand meets the shallow, clear waters of the Baltic Sea, an atmosphere of serenity is created. Many of the preserved Art Nouveau wooden houses almost transport you to another time and give the beach that little something extra. The sandy beach, which is pleasantly quiet in the off-season, is perfect for long walks - whether at sunrise when the first light touches the waves, or at sunset when the sky is colored in soft orange tones. Numerous works of art and small installations along the coast also remind us that Jūrmala is a place that harmoniously combines creativity and nature. The beach is also known for its sustainable efforts: the region strives to preserve its natural charm by responsibly managing coastal resources while promoting tourism.

Built in 1936, the hall has a rich history and combines Latvian wooden architecture with timeless charm. Originally built as a closed hall, it was later supplemented by a modern, semi-open stage, which is used mainly in summer and lets in the gentle sea breeze. Here you can enjoy a wide range of music - from classical concerts to jazz and rock - and the acoustics are amazingly good. The surrounding pine forests and the proximity to the beach give the experience a special atmosphere, almost as if the music itself was part of nature. The annual jazz festival is a highlight, with international and local artists coming together on this legendary stage.

The Jūrmala Globe, a well-known landmark on the corner of Turaidas iela and Jomas iela, has an interesting history. Originally installed in the early 1970s near the Dzintari Concert Hall, it symbolizes Jūrmala's twin towns, which are highlighted on the map with glowing circles. The globe had been badly damaged by weather over the years and underwent extensive restoration in 2016. It was given a new supporting structure and the rotation and lighting mechanisms were renewed so that it can once again rotate on its axis and illuminate the twin towns. The globe not only shows the world map, but also has the name "Jūrmala" in various languages around the sculpture's equator. This detail is a tribute to the city's international appeal and a reminder that visitors from all over the world value Jūrmala as a holiday destination. The sculpture's setting, nestled in green parks and close to the sandy beach, reinforces the feeling of relaxation and space. The globe is a popular photo spot, especially on sunny days, and invites you to become aware of how many people are connected through the place. Jūrmala, traditionally known for its wellness and recreation culture, uses the globe to reflect its openness and connection to the wider world - fitting for a city that attracts visitors from near and far.
